Full Moon in Virgo - The Blood Moon

Friday 14th March (in the UK) brings us the full moon in Virgo which corresponds with a full lunar eclipse. This eclipse activity is known as a Blood Moon where the moon appears to take on a red/golden hue. A stunning, awe inspiring spectacle in our sky.
Eclipse energy is known to bring with it change. Change that is transformative and fast. Like a reset. This eclipse seems especially potent due to the positioning of Uranus (the planet of change and breakthroughs). The good news with this time is that Saturn (known as the Lord of Karma) is also active so any changes that do occur will be aligning us with our soul's path and our highest good. These changes will be needed in order for us to progress our journey of healing and self fulfilment.
As the moon is transiting the constellation Virgo during this eclipse, the energies of the virgin goddess will be felt. We may feel a call to reflect on thought patterns of self-criticism and adjust these to be more supportive and kind. Other self-sabotaging patterns that no longer serve us may surface for assessment; our behaviours, habits, beliefs, fears - anything that is holding us back from achieving our highest potential. Especially in the areas of health, well-being, body and mind connection, perfectionism, unworthiness and organisation. We may also be feeling more connected to our bodies, observing the signals and cues that it's sending us and deciphering what they mean so that we can begin to understand our triggers that keep these negative patterns going. Ready for release under the waning period of the moon.
The reflective energy will remain as we enter the waning period of the moon, due to Mercury stationing retrograde the day after the full moon. Under this energy, we are being called to introspection and asked to review and restructure the way in which we communicate and interact with the world around us.
Some activities to indulge in to help navigate this eclipse period would be:
Journalling - taking time at the beginning and the end of your day to note down observations and insights that have occurred during the night and during the day. You may like to connect to the energy of Virgo by rooting your feet on the ground and taking your hands to your heart and asking the virgin goddess to illuminate you.
Herbal tea ritual - using herbs such as nettle leaf, fennel, mint and marjoram, pour water into your sacred teapot and as you sprinkle in the herbs and stir, say "I call to you virgin goddess to help me reveal the changes I need to make in order to bring my present life into alignment with my future life." Let the tea steep for a few minutes and then, when the tea is ready to drink, as you sip imagine the wisdom of Virgo permeating every part of your body.
Body connection - sit quietly and comfortably, somewhere you will not be disturbed. Close your eyes. Begin to breath gently in and out through your nose. Inhale more deeply if you need to. This acts as a system reset. Once your breath has settled, begin to draw the breath to the belly. Belly expanding as you breath in and belly contracting as you breath out. Keep the breath gently flowing through your nose. When you can feel your body relaxing and releasing, ask "What are you trying to tell me body?" "Body, what do you need me to change?" "What do I need to know body?". Sit with the sensations and the thoughts that come and, when you feel ready, open your eyes and note down your observations.
Blessings for the Full Blood Moon Eclipse to you all.
